Organic solvent resistance test of coated fabrics

Organic solvent resistance test of coated fabrics-Corrosion Testing-

Test Background

The organic solvent resistance test of coated fabrics can determine its resistance to organic solvents and is suitable for coated fabrics, paint-dyed and printed fabrics of various base fabrics.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various coated fabrics, and provides professional organic solvent resistance testing services for coatings, paint-dyed and printed fabrics.

Test method

The sample is immersed in an organic solvent at room temperature. Method A is immersed under static conditions. Method B is used to generate friction with an appropriate number of stainless steel sheets under dynamic conditions. After a certain period of time, take out the sample, use the gray sample card for evaluating discoloration to evaluate the discoloration of the sample, and observe the change in the appearance of the sample.

Result Evaluation

According to the corrosion of the sample by organic solvents, the appearance changes of the sample are evaluated visually according to the following five levels, and the discoloration of the sample is evaluated using a gray sample card. The worse of the appearance change and discoloration is used as the evaluation result.
Level 5 is the best and level 1 is the worst.
Level 5: There is almost no change in appearance, or the sample changes color by 4-5 levels.
Level 4: The appearance changes slightly, or the sample discolors level 4.
Level 3: The appearance changes obviously (such as the fabric is curled, stiff, the coating is slightly peeled off, there are fading spots, etc.), or the sample is discolored Level 3.
Level 2: The appearance changes significantly (such as fabric curling, stiffness, brittleness, partial peeling of the coating, etc.), or the sample discolors Level 2.
Level 1: The appearance changes greatly (such as coating peeling off, chipping, separation from the base fabric, fabric becoming hard and brittle, etc.), or the sample discolors 1-2 levels or less. The lowest grade among the two samples is used as the test result.

Test standard:

FZ/T 01065-2008 Determination of organic solvent resistance of coatings and paint-dyed and printed fabrics
GB 250 gray sample card for assessing discoloration
GB/T 5711--1997 Textiles, color fastness test, color fastness to dry cleaning
