Test Background
Various paints applied to various parts inside and outside the ship to extend the service life of the ship and meet the special requirements of the ship are collectively called ship paint.
The ship paint salt water resistance test can determine the salt water and hot salt water resistance of the steel hull anti-rust paint film and supporting systems.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various ship paints and provides professional salt water resistance test services for ship paints.
Scope of tests
Shop primers include: phenolic modified phosphating primer, epoxy zinc-rich primer, orthosilicate zinc powder primer, and metal-free zinc powder primer.
Anti-rust primers include: zinc phosphate anti-rust paint, zinc yellow anti-rust paint, red lead anti-rust paint, and other anti-rust paints.
Boat bottom paint includes: boat paint, anti-rust paint and boat bottom anti-fouling paint. Among them, ship bottom anti-rust paint also includes: asphalt ship bottom anti-rust paint, chlorinated rubber ship bottom anti-rust paint, and epoxy asphalt ship bottom anti-rust paint.
Test method
1. Immerse the sample into the test plate holder in the test tank so that three-quarters of the sample is immersed in the test salt water. The distance between the specimen immersed in the tank and the inner wall of the tank should be at least 30 mm. If several specimens are immersed in the same test tank, the distance between them should be at least 30 mm. During the test, the position of the specimen in the tank should be continuously changed.
2. During the test or at the end of each cycle, take out the test sample from the test tank, rinse the sample carefully with tap water, dry it gently with filter paper or soft cloth, check for damage, and then place it again in the test tank. The number of test cycles and test time shall be carried out according to the product standards.
3. When the test is completed according to the specified time or cycle, take out the sample, wash away the salt traces with tap water, dry it with filter paper or soft cloth, and then detect the loss of gloss, discoloration, rust, blistering, peeling and cracks of the coating system according to GB/T1766. If necessary, compare with similarly prepared unsoaked specimens. If a recovery period is specified, repeat the inspection and comparison after the specified recovery period.
